How many times have you heard, “Failing doesn’t mean you’re a failure.” Sure, it sounds great ? until you fail! Giving your all to something you believe in like a great product, service, or idea, only to be turned down by everyone you’ve pitched to, absolutely feels like failure. You begin to second guess your passion and ability. You start to wonder if this is REALLY what you should be doing. You slowly begin to doubt every move you make, and question why you even felt it was a good idea, to begin with…Maybe not you but I certainly felt this way time and time again. But I couldn’t stay down, I kept getting back up changing my approach, sharpening my skills and trying it over and over again. See, I believe failure is when you stop getting back up. My motto has always been, “ failure is not an option”. If there’s no other option, you MUST keep trying.
Falling or failing never feels good but knowing there’s light at the end of the tunnel makes getting up a necessity. Can you believe Walt Disney was turned down 302 times before finally getting financing for his dream of creating Walt Disney World? Wow, hard to believe when you see what Disney is today. Or how about Col Sanders was rejected by 1,009 restaurants before finding a taker for his cool new chicken recipe? How’s that for tenacity! The no’s are inevitable, failure is optional.
I hope this encourages you to get up and try again, success tastes so sweet it balances the bitterness of failing. Remember someone needs your product or service, they just don’t know it yet. It’s up to you to get them to see what you already know. Well, what are you waiting for? Go get’em!
